QA Automation Lead Playwright automation (Javascript/Typescript/Python) Location: Toronto, ON

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid

Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension) Pay Rate: C$80.00–C$95.00 / Hour (CAD) Shift / Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; Thursday and 4th Friday of the month in-office (may change due to business requirements)

Job Summary The main function of a Developer (Other Specialty) is to design, develop, and implement applications using in-demand languages and technologies to support business requirements. This is a Senior/Lead QA Automation role within Global Asset Management Technology, supporting the GAM transformation journey by enhancing the QA automation function. The team is building out a new QA automation practice to perform test automation for existing and new applications, including web applications and data engineering pipelines.

Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks using Playwright for web applications Create and execute automated tests for Databricks data engineering workflows, including notebooks, ETL pipelines, and data reconciliation Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation Collaborate with developers and data engineers to define quality standards and resolve defects Analyze test results, document findings, and provide actionable insights Ensure comprehensive test coverage for both frontend and backend components Utilize JavaScript/TypeScript and Python for automation scripting Potentially lead future offshore QA team on test automation/execution Continue to support traditional manual testing efforts as required Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement, and support a solution Assure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met for supported area Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner

Required Skills Playwright automation (Javascript/Typescript/Python) CI/CD integration Data reconciliation / Data Testing API testing Manual testing and ability to convert manual tests to automation Development experience in needed language or technology Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and successful deployment of large-scale projects from end-to-end Hands-on experience following the iterative and Agile SDLC

Preferred Skills Global Asset Management / Wealth / Capital Market experience Experience leading an offshore QA automation team

Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required
