Position Name – Data Engineer - Power BI Type of hiring – Fulltime Location – Toronto, ON (Hybrid (2-3 days a week) Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a strong background in Power BI to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and managing Power BI dashboards, reporting solutions, and creating a robust semantic layer. This role is crucial for transforming data into actionable insights and enhancing data-driven decision-making processes. Roles & Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that meet business requirements. Develop and implement a semantic layer to facilitate data access and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Optimize Power BI models for performance, scalability, and usability. Utilize Power Apps to create custom applications that enhance data interaction and reporting capabilities. Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes. Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and Power Apps functionalities. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence. Qualifications & Skills: 5-7 Years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a related field. Proven experience in Power BI modeling, dashboard development, and reporting. Strong knowledge of Power BI reporting, data visualization best practices, and semantic layer development. Proficiency in Power Apps for creating custom business applications. Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. Familiarity with SQL and database management systems. Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure and AWS. Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and Agile methodologies. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
