MUST HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Expert knowledge of web application stack from top to bottom High level knowledge of Python High level knowledge of SQL Very good understanding of network protocols, including HTTP, TLS, and TCP Linux has been your home OS for years High level knowledge of JS Able to write clean and functional HTML / CSS / Javascript without relying on frameworks BSc in Science, Math, Engineering, or related Proficiency in using Version Control Systems (VCS), such as Git, for team collaboration Understanding of core Unix concepts (threading, processes, memory) THE ROLE As our next Software Engineer, you will be responsible for writing high-quality code and working across the full stack to develop new features and infrastructure. Please note this is a primarily in-office role based out of our Vancouver office. WHAT YOU’LL DO Design, develop, and maintain high-quality full stack applications, including interactive front-end features, back-end services, APIs, and database solutions. Manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through deployment, maintenance, and ongoing enhancements. Deploy and support applications in staging and production environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and security. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, conduct code reviews, and maintain coding standards and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across time zones, including product managers, designers, and engineers, within an Agile environment. Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence. What you’ll do
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality full stack applications, including front-end features, back-end services, and APIs. Manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment and ongoing maintenance in an Agile environment.
Requirements
Requires a BSc in Science, Math, Engineering, or a related field with expert knowledge of the web application stack. Must be proficient in Python, SQL, JavaScript, and Linux, with a strong understanding of network protocols and Unix concepts.
