Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the Role We’re building the future of work by scaling Spotwork’s agile staffing platform across the U.S. and Canada. As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping core product features, optimizing our user experience, and owning technical initiatives from concept through production in a fast-moving startup environment. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and operations teams to deliver impactful, high-quality software. What You’ll Do Lead development of full-stack features using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and NoSQL technologies. Translate product and business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions. Ship high-quality code regularly - from prototypes to production releases. Partner with product and design teams to deliver intuitive, performant, and polished user experiences. Build backend APIs, data models, and integration layers powering core workflows. Monitor, debug, and improve performance and reliability across the stack. Mentor other engineers and contribute to tech strategy, processes, and standards. Thrive in ambiguity and help define product direction as we grow. Requirements Technical Skills React - Deep experience building scalable, maintainable frontends using modern React patterns. TypeScript & JavaScript (ES6+) - Strong fundamentals in type-safe code and modern JavaScript semantics. Node.js - Proven backend development skills building services and API layers. HTML & CSS - Solid grasp of UI fundamentals, responsive design, and web standards. NoSQL Database - Hands-on experience designing schemas, querying efficiently, and optimizing performance with NoSQL stores (e.g., Firestore, MongoDB, DynamoDB). Product & Ownership Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end, from ideation through implementation, launch, and iteration. Comfortable making architectural decisions in an evolving codebase and prioritizing tradeoffs. Strong sense of product ownership and accountability for results. Startup Mindset Self-starter who thrives in a lean, fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. Comfortable wearing multiple hats — from frontend to backend, tech strategy to execution. Actively identifies opportunities to improve code quality, developer workflows, and user experiences. Effective communicator with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach. Nice to Have Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, or serverless architectures. Familiarity with mobile-first design or cross-platform applications. Prior experience at early-stage or high-growth startups.
