We are seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to help develop and enhance vulnerability management capabilities within a security-focused product environment. In this role, you will contribute to backend services, data processing systems, and security workflows that enable users to manage, triage, and respond to security findings efficiently. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams while taking ownership of features and projects that improve platform reliability, performance, and user experience. Key Responsibilities Backend Application Development Design, develop, and maintain backend services that support vulnerability management and security workflows. Build and enhance features that improve the ingestion, processing, reporting, and tracking of security-related data. Deliver high-quality code that meets established engineering standards for maintainability, performance, and scalability. Take ownership of well-defined projects and drive them from implementation through deployment and support. Platform Performance & Reliability Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of data processing and reporting systems. Investigate and resolve technical issues while identifying opportunities for optimization. Support the continuous improvement of backend services and the overall platform architecture. Contribute to the reduction of technical debt through thoughtful design and refactoring efforts. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Frontend Engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions. Collaborate across engineering teams to integrate data, services, and workflows effectively. Partner with teammates to refine requirements, evaluate technical approaches, and ensure successful project delivery. Contribute across the technology stack when business needs require broader involvement. Code Quality & Engineering Excellence Participate in peer code reviews and encourage adherence to engineering best practices. Maintain a strong focus on code quality, testing, maintainability, and documentation. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence. Provide constructive feedback and collaborate effectively within an engineering team environment. Problem Solving & Technical Growth Analyze technical challenges, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions. Continuously expand technical knowledge and stay current with evolving software development practices. Learn from experienced engineers while actively sharing knowledge with peers. Support engineering initiatives that improve development efficiency and platform stability. Operational Support Participate in operational support activities, including troubleshooting production issues when required. Assist in maintaining service availability, performance, and reliability. Contribute to incident resolution and post-incident improvement efforts. Support monitoring and operational best practices across services and applications. Required Qualifications Experience developing and maintaining backend applications using modern software development frameworks. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and backend engineering principles. Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or similar database technologies. Experience contributing to software projects as part of a collaborative engineering team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable backend development frameworks. Familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, Vue.js, or modern web frameworks. Understanding of scalable web application architecture and distributed systems. Experience with search engines, data indexing technologies, or analytics platforms. Exposure to application security, vulnerability management, cybersecurity, or related domains. Experience working in remote or distributed team environments. Knowledge of DevOps practices, monitoring, and production support processes.
