Job Title: Full Stack .NET Developer Job Type: Contract (12 Months initial contract) Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 4d/w onsite) Must be eligible to work in Canada Roles and responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full Stack .NET Developer for a 12-month contract position with a major financial institution in Toronto. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance, secure software solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to modernize enterprise applications. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain efficient, scalable, and reliable code using C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core. Develop modern user interfaces using responsive web technologies (Angular, React, or Vue.js). Build, consume, and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices. Write clean, testable code and implement automated testing pipelines to ensure high software quality. Manage, query, and optimize relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL). Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and technical design discussions. Identify performance bottlenecks, debug issues, and ensure adherence to financial sector security standards. Qualifications & Skills Backend: 5+ years of hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core / .NET 6+, ASP.NET Web API, and Entity Framework. Frontend: Strong proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, or TypeScript), HTML5, and CSS3. Database: Strong background in complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance tuning. Architecture: Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, and microservices architecture. DevOps & Tools: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and cloud services (Azure or AWS) is a strong plus. Industry: Previous experience working within the financial services or banking domain is highly desirable.
