Position: Senior Network Administrator Location: Hybrid, 3 days in Etobicoke Compensation: $110K-$120K Job Type: Permanent Posting Type: Open vacancy Position overview We are looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to join an enterprise environment and take ownership of both advanced technical troubleshooting and complex network/security projects. This is a senior-level position requiring strong hands-on expertise with F5, Palo Alto, and enterprise Routing & Switching. The successful candidate will be expected to go beyond ticket-based support, independently diagnosing complex production issues and driving projects from design and planning through implementation and deployment. The ideal candidate will have a strong enterprise networking and security background, with the ability to work across firewalls, load balancers, routing, switching, VPNs, network segmentation, and application connectivity. They will partner closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams, provide technical leadership on high-impact issues, and contribute to the ongoing improvement, modernization, and security of the organization's network environment. Key Responsibilities: - Lead advanced troubleshooting and incident resolution across enterprise network and security infrastructure, diagnosing complex issues involving F5, Palo Alto firewalls, routing, switching, and network connectivity. - Design, implement, and support enterprise network security solutions, including Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, VPNs, segmentation, security policies, and related infrastructure. - Own complex infrastructure and security projects from planning and architecture through implementation, testing, migration, and production rollout, rather than focusing solely on day-to-day ticket resolution. - Provide senior-level expertise in routing and switching, troubleshooting complex network paths, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, TCP/IP, VPN connectivity, and performance issues across large enterprise environments. - Collaborate with network, security, infrastructure, and application teams to resolve high-impact issues, improve network resilience and security, document solutions, and drive continuous infrastructure improvements. Qualifications: - 7+ years of enterprise network/security engineering experience, with demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex production environments. - Strong hands-on experience with F5 technologies, including load balancing, virtual servers, pools, health monitors, iRules, SSL/TLS, and troubleshooting application traffic flows. - Strong hands-on Palo Alto experience, including firewall configuration, security policies, NAT, VPNs, routing, threat prevention, troubleshooting, and enterprise security architecture. - Advanced routing and switching expertise, with strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols such as BGP/OSPF, switching, network segmentation, and enterprise network troubleshooting. - Proven experience delivering network/security projects, including migrations, upgrades, implementations, architecture changes, and infrastructure improvements, with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
