Backend Developer- Generative AI Platforms

Our client in the technology consulting space is seeking a Backend Platform SME specializing in Generative AI platforms who brings strong technical leadership, architectural expertise, and hands-on experience building scalable backend solutions on Azure. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and optimization of backend services, APIs, and platform components supporting Generative AI solutions. Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions leveraging Azure services, Azure AI capabilities, and enterprise integrations. Design and manage API frameworks, integration patterns, and backend services that enable AI-powered business applications. Establish and maintain GitHub platform standards, CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, and development best practices. Automate provisioning and deployment of Azure infrastructure and platform components using Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities, assess technical feasibility, and deliver innovative solutions. Serve as the technical escalation point for platform issues, troubleshooting, and production support. Drive technical backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, and architecture discussions as a senior technical lead. Ensure platform reliability, security, monitoring, performance, and operational excellence. Provide strong technical leadership, mentoring development teams and guiding solution builders on platform best practices. Requirements Strong hands-on experience designing and developing backend applications and enterprise APIs. Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure, including cloud architecture, deployment, security, monitoring, and platform services. Experience building and integrating AI-powered applications using Azure AI services and large language models. Strong knowledge of GitHub platform management, source control strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. Experience with cloud infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code. Solid understanding of system architecture, scalability, security, and operational best practices. Proven experience leading technical teams in Agile/Scrum environments. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, including governance and best practices for agentic AI solution development. Experience with Google Gemini or other enterprise AI platforms. Experience in enterprise-scale platform development and consulting environments. Azure certifications and/or cloud architecture certifications. Experience supporting production systems with critical uptime and performance requirements. Hybrid: Onsite 1 day a week

The role involves leading the design, development, and optimization of backend services and APIs for Generative AI solutions. The candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities and ensure platform reliability and security.

Candidates should have strong hands-on experience in backend application development and deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and AI services. Proven experience in leading technical teams in Agile environments and excellent communication skills are also required.
