A career as a Chief Backend Developer within the Platforms and Automation team at National Bank means acting as an expert in the design, development, and evolution of strategic backend services in highly available cloud environments. This role gives you the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the modernization of our technology solutions through your expertise in software development, distributed architectures, AWS cloud technologies, and Kubernetes platforms. You will contribute to operations automation, the evolution of critical services, and the continuous improvement of the reliability, performance, and stability of our platforms. Your Role Design, develop, and enhance backend services in Go and Python within critical production environments. Develop and integrate new features and APIs that support automation platforms and large-scale technology processes. Contribute to the architecture and evolution of modern distributed solutions based on microservices and AWS cloud technologies. Ensure the integration, deployment, and operation of applications in environments leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps practices. Collaborate with user teams to drive platform adoption, share best practices, and recommend solutions aligned with business needs. Contribute to incident resolution, continuous service improvement, and platform availability, including participation in an on-call rotation. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development within a production environment. Demonstrated expertise in Go and Python in a production setting. Advanced experience with AWS services and cloud architecture principles. Proven hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, modern software development practices, and GitHub. Strong understanding of distributed architectures, software design principles, and API integration. Availability to participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical services. Languages: French, English Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
