About

Mycionics builds AI robots that automate the hand work fresh food still depends on. They handle fragile, irregular produce at industrial scale and are already at work on commercial mushroom farms. The technology is deployed or on order at six commercial mushroom farm sites in North America and Europe, and is moving to full-farm rollouts. At South Mill Champs, one of North America's largest mushroom farms and the site of the first large-scale robotic mushroom harvesting deployment, the Crop Scout vision system raised yield 7.8% (2026), about one million extra pounds a year at that site, as measured by the grower. Robots work beside the crew, and each farm chooses how many to add. Mushrooms come first for a reason. They bruise at a touch and double in size in a day, and harvest labour is 40 to 50% of a farm's cost. Because they grow indoors year-round, the robots work about 350 days a year. Every scan adds to what Mycionics is building: the largest record of crop growth and harvest in agriculture, which trains the AI behind its perception, grasping and harvest strategy. The same modules apply to other crop handling work across fresh food. Mycionics holds 16 issued and 5 pending patents in North America, Europe and Australia. Founded in 2014 on a working mushroom farm, it designs and builds its systems in Kitchener, Ontario. Its board and advisors include three co-founders of Clearpath Robotics and the co-founder of Miovision.
