Our client, a large financial services organization, is hiring a Senior Data Scientist (AML) for a 6-month contract in Toronto, ON (hybrid). You’ll join a data science team focused on anti-money laundering (AML) transaction monitoring, building and tuning machine learning models with Python, PySpark, Databricks, Azure and SQL. The role may be extended or converted to permanent, depending on business needs and performance. This is a senior, hands-on role with a lot of room to explore. You’ll be the analytics lead on transaction monitoring work: building risk scoring and customer behaviour models, tuning detection scenarios, and coming up with new data-driven ways to catch financial crime. If you’re a strong ML practitioner who wants to build deep AML and financial crime knowledge, this role is a good way to get it. They’re looking for someone who likes owning their work, brings their own ideas, and does their best work as part of a team. Requirements

Requires 8+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a related field, plus a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline. Candidates should have extensive machine learning modeling experience, expert knowledge of Python, PySpark, Databricks, Azure, and SQL, and strong statistical, data exploration, and data mining skills; AML or financial services experience is desired.
