Standard Job Description Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. As part of the Product Engineering team, the candidate will lead the design and delivery of integrated hardware solutions for Naval Combat Management Systems (CMS), ensuring that individual equipment elements are brought together into cohesive, scalable, and operationally effective product solutions. The role oversees hardware product maturation across the CMS lifecycle, from solution definition and equipment selection through integration, deployment, and evolution. Specific Position Responsibilities The candidate will perform the following: Define and design integrated hardware solutions aligned with CMS product objectives and customer needs. Lead the integration of diverse hardware elements into complete operational configurations. Develop and evaluate hardware solution options and trade-offs. Drive consistency across equipment selection, physical configuration, interfaces, and deployment approaches. Support platform-specific adaptations while preserving product commonality. Identify hardware dependencies, integration considerations, and implementation constraints. Collaborate with engineering disciplines to ensure hardware solutions are compatible with the broader CMS product. Contribute to technology roadmaps, modernization initiatives, and hardware refresh strategies. Provide technical leadership during customer reviews and solution development activities. Support to project planning and execution tracking. Work scope Basis of Estimate (BOE) development. Basic Qualifications Required Skills Possesses a bachelor’s in engineering or related area of study with minimum five years of professional experience in field, or minimum three years of professional experience with a related master’s degree Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical members of the engineering/management staff and personnel assigned to related work Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool suite. Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) Knowledge of requirement management for HW lifecycle, from design to procurement and obsolescence Desired Skills Desired Skills The Following Skills And Certification Are Considered As Assets Experience leading product development via Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence Familiarity with Earned Value Management Experienced in project management and planning tools such as Microsoft Project Familiarity with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Cameo, Jira, Windchill, Confluence Familiarity with configuration management processes

Requirements
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and at least five years of professional experience, or a related master’s degree and at least three years of experience. Candidates should communicate effectively, be proficient with Microsoft Office, and have familiarity with MBSE and hardware lifecycle requirements management; experience with Agile, project planning, earned value management, requirements tools, and configuration management is an asset.
