Job summary

Montréal, QC Full time $100,000 to $120,000 CAD annually About Lasso Informatics Research data is wild. It pours in from brain scans, genome sequencing, EEG and eye-tracking, biospecimens and wearables that track sleep and movement, across dozens of sites and years of study. Lasso Informatics ropes it in: our platform pulls it all into one place so researchers around the world can stop fighting with their data and get to discoveries faster. That is where our name comes from. A lasso brings something wild under control, and that is the job. The people who do it are Wranglers, and we are quite choosy about who earns the title. Wranglers expect a lot of themselves, make everyone around them better, and never stop learning. We move fast, we have fun, and we keep the bar high. About The Role We are hiring a Full Stack Developer to design, build and maintain the applications and services behind the platform. You will work across the stack, from frontend components to backend APIs to the database layer, building software that is secure, fast and stable enough for our collaborators to trust with their research data. You will join a development team that plans together. Expect to shape technical direction, review code and weigh in on architecture. Security and performance standards are part of the plan from the start. What You Will Do Design, build and maintain full stack applications, frontend and backend Write clean, documented code in modern frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, Node.js, Django and Flask Build and consume RESTful APIs, and integrate third-party services Work with DevOps on deployment, CI/CD and environment management Work with QA on code quality and test coverage Tune applications for performance, scale and security Take part in code reviews, technical discussions and architecture planning Maintain database schemas, write complex queries and protect data integrity Track down bugs, bottlenecks and production issues, then fix them Document systems, endpoints and workflows What you bring 7+ years as a full stack developer or software engineer Fluency in a modern JavaScript or TypeScript framework (React, Vue or Angular) Server-side experience (Node.js, Python, Django or Flask) Strong relational database knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization Git and collaborative development workflows A working understanding of RESTful API design and secure integration Experience in CI/CD environments Careful problem-solving and attention to detail Clear communication across a cross-functional team Nice to have FISMA Moderate security requirements AWS (Lambda, S3, RDS, EC2) In-situ data processing or large-scale data workflows AWS Open OnDemand environments Docker and Kubernetes Authentication frameworks (OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect) Infrastructure as code What we offer A flexible, hybrid or remote position. Competitive compensation and benefits. Work that matters, with scientific and clinical impact you can point to. Variety that keeps it interesting: no two studies, releases or weeks look the same. Room to grow with a mission-driven company at the front of research data management. A sharp, multidisciplinary team that is good at what it does and good to work with.
