Job summary
Job Title: Java Developer – Capital Markets (eTrading) Location: Toronto, ON (3–4 Days Onsite per Week) Duration: Long-Term Contract Experience Required: 12–15 Years Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with a strong background in Capital Markets to join a high-performing eTrading team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience building low-latency, high-performance trading applications using Core Java and Spring technologies. Experience in Debt Capital Markets (DCM) is highly desirable. Required Skills & Experience 12–15 years of overall software development experience. 10–12 years of hands-on experience with Core Java. 5–10 years of experience with the Spring Framework/Spring Boot. Strong experience developing multi-threaded, low-latency, high-performance applications. Excellent understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). Hands-on coding experience with a strong focus on clean, maintainable, and scalable code. Experience designing and developing Microservices and RESTful APIs. Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Experience with Caching Solutions/MemSQL. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (other cloud platforms will also be considered). Experience with real-time messaging technologies such as Solace or JMS. Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Linux, and Shell Scripting. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment. Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across global teams. Domain Experience Strong experience in Capital Markets is required. Debt Capital Markets (DCM) experience is highly preferred. Understanding of Financial Operations is considered an advantage. Nice to Have Exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) tools and technologies.
