Job details
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI First iOS Software Engineer based in Canada. We are seeking an AI-driven iOS Software Engineer to help build, improve, and scale innovative mobile experiences for a high-volume digital marketplace. In this role, you will develop customer-facing features that support both buyers and sellers, contributing to seamless and reliable mobile journeys. You will work primarily with Swift and SwiftUI while collaborating with experienced engineers to strengthen your technical skills and deliver high-quality software. AI-powered development tools will be an essential part of your workflow, helping you accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Working closely with product, design, backend, and Android teams, you will help ensure consistent experiences across platforms. This fully remote opportunity offers a collaborative environment where continuous learning, technical curiosity, and responsible AI adoption are encouraged. \n Accountabilities Develop, test, and deliver iOS features primarily using Swift and SwiftUI across buyer and seller marketplace applications. Contribute to application architecture, including SwiftUI views, ViewModels, and established patterns such as Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM), while working with existing UIKit components when necessary. Implement feature-flagged functionality, write unit and UI tests, and ensure code meets established quality standards and continuous integration requirements. Use AI-powered development tools daily to accelerate coding, refactoring, test generation, debugging, root-cause analysis, and technical documentation. Review and validate AI-generated code and recommendations to ensure correctness, maintainability, performance, and production readiness before merging changes. Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into effective mobile solutions that address customer needs and business objectives. Work under the guidance of senior iOS engineers to develop technical expertise, take increasing ownership of features, and contribute to shared platform capabilities. Partner with Android engineers to align product functionality and maintain consistent user experiences across mobile platforms. Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and development workflows that support quality releases across both mobile operating systems. Contribute to mobile analytics, feature flags, networking, and application architecture while gradually expanding ownership of shared platform concerns. Share knowledge, incorporate feedback, and continuously improve development practices by adopting emerging tools and identifying opportunities to reduce repetitive work. Requirements: At least 3 years of professional iOS development experience, or equivalent technical depth, with practical experience delivering production-ready mobile features within a collaborative engineering team. Strong proficiency in Swift and hands-on experience building iOS applications using SwiftUI. Experience developing and publishing at least one application through the Apple App Store. Understanding of fundamental mobile application architecture, including MVVM or similar architectural patterns, SwiftUI views, ViewModels, and basic networking concepts. Familiarity with unit testing, UI testing, code reviews, continuous integration, and established software quality practices, with a willingness to develop expertise in snapshot testing. Experience using AI-powered development tools, such as coding copilots, AI-assisted debugging tools, and automated test generators, with the ability to critically evaluate and validate their outputs. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and reliable code. Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior engineers, product managers, designers, backend developers, and Android counterparts. A product-oriented mindset, curiosity about emerging technologies, and a willingness to learn, adapt, and take increasing ownership of technical responsibilities. Nice to have: Experience with snapshot testing and automated mobile testing strategies. Familiarity with Swift Package Manager (SPM), modular application architecture, and shared UI component libraries. Previous experience developing mobile applications for marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, or other transactional products. Interest in developing expertise in authentication, feature flags, mobile analytics, and shared platform capabilities. Familiarity with hybrid mobile application experiences using WebView components. Benefits: Competitive compensation: Annual salary ranging from $85,000 to $125,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Comprehensive healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, subject to the applicable benefits plan. Retirement savings: RRSP with employer matching contributions for Canadian employees. Paid time off: Paid vacation, personal days, and sick leave. Family support: Paid maternity and paternity leave for eligible US employees. Financial protection: Employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage for eligible US employees. Employee well-being: Access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program. Community engagement: An employer-paid volunteer day dedicated to supporting community initiatives. Professional development: Tuition reimbursement for eligible programs and opportunities to expand technical expertise. Career advancement: Opportunities for internal promotions, diverse career paths, knowledge sharing, and long-term professional growth. Remote flexibility: A full-time remote position based in Canada. Innovative work environment: The opportunity to collaborate with experienced mobile engineers and contribute to large-scale marketplace applications, platform modernization, and AI-driven development initiatives. \n How Jobgether works: We use an AI-powered matching process to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements.
