We are seeking a Ruby on Rails Developer to support a federal government project in Ottawa. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building secure, cloud-based applications within an Agile environment and is comfortable working with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices. This role requires an active Secret Clearance. In this role, you will: Develop, enhance, and maintain Ruby on Rails applications Work within an Agile team using short iterations, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps workflows Build and support cloud-based and web-based software solutions Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge transfer Minimum 1 year (within the last 3 years) in: Agile software development, CI/CD and modern DevOps practices, Custom software development in iterative environments Minimum 1 year (within the last 5 years) in all of the following: Cloud-based software development, Web application development, Strong proficiency with Ruby on Rails development Experience with REST APIs and web services Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or GC Cloud) Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is an asset Understanding of secure coding and government security standards High Tech Genesis Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building inclusive teams where diverse perspectives drive innovation.
