Job Title: Senior Java Developer Location: Remote Duration: 06 Months contract with possibility of extension Pay Rate: $60-65/hour CAD on Inc. Job Description: We are looking for a highly skilled Java Developer with strong hands-on experience in Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and working knowledge of Python. The ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor capable of designing, building, and maintaining scalable, distributed systems with minimal supervision. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java (Java 8/11/17+) • Build and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security) • Build, deploy, and maintain scalable Microservices-based architectures • Develop supporting scripts, automation, or services using Python • Design and integrate RESTful APIs across distributed services • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product) to deliver high-quality solutions • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application and system performance • Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions • Ensure application security, scalability, and reliability Required Skills & Experience • Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework • Hands-on experience with the Spring ecosystem (Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Cloud) • Solid hands-on experience with Microservices architecture and design patterns • Working proficiency in Python for scripting, tooling, or service development • Experience building and consuming REST APIs • Strong understanding of software design principles and design patterns • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) • Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes preferred) • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently Nice to Have Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) Familiarity with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
