Job Title: BSA/Data Analyst Location: Toronto, ON (3 days a week hybrid) 12 Months Contract Requirements and responsibilities What you’ll do Working with the project teams, business stakeholders, and technical SMEs; data insights on a growing portfolio of interactive dashboards across many product teams Create new datasets and sophisticated dashboards Understand the data and business processes across all applications and all data domains Advocate best practices for development across our teams What you’ll bring Must Have Expert in SQL, Hadoop, Big Data, Hive, Nifi Strong experience in Azure Data Services analysis, BI analysis Ability to analyze the construction of existing reports and reverse engineer table relationships, etc Strong knowledge of the retail domain and experience with various stages of data warehouse projects, including data extraction, cleansing, aggregation, validation, transformation, and loading. Exp in using DataStage components such as Sequential File, Join, Sort, Merge, Lookup, Transformer, Remove Duplicates, Copy, Filter, Funnel, Dataset, Change Data Capture, and Aggregator. Strong at database commands (DDL and DML) and data warehousing implementation models. Hands-on experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, Hive, Sqoop, NiFi, and YARN. Familiar with the mainframe ESP for job scheduling. Understanding of branched development—dev, QA, prod, etc Passionate about data and it’s potential An organized and self-starter approach to accomplish responsible work items Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex messages and stories in both IT and business Business and data analysis skills to gather requirements and translate to technical requirements Be self-driven and can multitask and work on multiple projects at the same time under tight deadlines Ability to navigate ambiguity and simplify complex scenarios with keen business acumen Desired: Experience of analyzing Lobs, databases, and writing scripts. Experience of connecting to additional sources such as Azure and MySQL CI/CD experience

Requirements

Requires strong SQL, Hadoop ecosystem, Azure Data Services, business intelligence, data warehousing, and DataStage experience, along with retail domain knowledge. Candidates should be able to reverse engineer reports and data relationships, translate business requirements into technical requirements, communicate effectively, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
