As a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) at Exchange Solutions, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable, and defect-free solutions across our core platform and client-facing applications. Working within an agile team, you will help build scalable and reusable solutions aligned with our technology roadmap. You will design and execute comprehensive testing strategies across functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, while supporting the full QA lifecycle from test planning through defect resolution. This is a hands-on role focused on improving test coverage, strengthening automation, and ensuring consistent application of quality standards. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and architecture teams to validate requirements, enhance testability, and reduce risk. Agentic AI tools are a core part of how we work, and you will be expected to integrate AI-assisted workflows into your daily testing practice, from test generation and coverage analysis to automated validation and defect triage. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, takes ownership of quality, and continuously looks for ways to improve testing practices and efficiency, including through AI-assisted approaches. Key Responsibilities Define, review, and maintain quality standards, policies, and procedures across projects Design and execute test strategies including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and coverage matrices for manual and automated testing Analyze test results and provide recommendations on release readiness Design, build, and evolve scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks and test suites, ensuring high reliability and seamless integration into CI/CD pipelines Define and update templates and documentation for testing artifacts Execute test cases, identify defects, and ensure proper tracking, prioritization, and resolution Perform root cause analysis and contribute to continuous improvement of product quality and testing efficiency Collaborate with engineering, product, and architecture teams to validate requirements and ensure testability Provide estimates for QA activities and support project planning Monitor test execution progress and report on coverage, risks, and overall status Evaluate and recommend testing tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and coverage Participate in requirement analysis and design discussions to ensure testability and enable early quality validation Take end-to-end ownership of quality for assigned features and releases Maintain and continuously improve test management practices and provide clear visibility into test coverage, execution progress, and release readiness Leverage AI-assisted and agent-based workflows to design, generate, and optimize test coverage, automate validation processes, and accelerate defect detection and triage Develop and utilize agent-based workflows or tools to automate repetitive testing and validation tasks Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience 5 or more years of experience in software development and quality assurance Strong programming skills in Typescript, Python, Java, C, C++, or similar languages Proven hands-on experience using agentic AI tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar to support test generation, coverage analysis, and automation workflows Experience building and maintaining stable and scalable test automation frameworks Solid understanding of functional, integration, system, and performance testing Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, K6 or similar Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and modern service architectures Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, ViTest, Robot Framework, or similar Proficiency in SQL and data validation Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar, with hands-on experience integrating automated tests into pipelines Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as JIRA Demonstrated ability to improve test coverage, reliability, and overall software quality Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Effective communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems Experience with database systems, data warehouses, and OLAP technologies Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Experience working in Agile environments The hiring salary range for this position is $90,000 – $105,000 CAD per year (base salary). This range reflects the scope and responsibilities of the role and is aligned with current market benchmarks and internal pay equity. Requirements
