Intermediate Estimator/Scheduler

Position and Responsibilities
Cameco is embarking on a digital transformation and the technical services team is looking for a dynamic team member, driven by innovation, to leverage technology as we improve processes and gain efficiencies. Assistance is required to improve our estimating and scheduling processes and capabilities within our program systems. The team is looking for someone who is driven by innovation and are effective at leveraging technology in a projects environment.

Reporting to the sr. specialist, your core responsibilities in our team will be supporting Cameco's various projects in estimating, scheduling and program systems. You will be responsible for:

• Providing support to establish the estimate plan, estimation methodology, project WBS and engaging with the project team to define the scope of work. You will provide estimates and basis of estimate preparation. You must ensure preparation of Class 2, 3, 4 and 5 estimates are in conformance with AACE and Cameco standards. Development of cost variance analysis at the end of contracts/projects. You will facilitate quantitative risk analysis for the projects as required.  
• Assisting with schedule management. This includes preparation of work packages, detailed schedule logic, baselining, critical path, resource planning and earned value.  
• Supporting Cameco's program systems integration (ARES Prism, Microsoft Project Online, BIM) in support of project management activities. You will ensure the systems in place allow for effective reporting of all required metrics for key stakeholders, troubleshoot any issues that arise and provide support to users as required. You will also focus on the continual improvement of our program systems in technical services.  
   

You will have the opportunity to work remote in this position. However, there may be the need for intermittent meetings in the Saskatoon office. The details of this flex work arrangement will be discussed with you in the recruitment process.

This is a temporary two-year position.

Education and Qualifications

Requirements of the position:

• Diploma in engineering, commerce, information technology or computer science
• Minimum of seven years of relevant industry experience, specifically in estimating (with some scheduling experience as well)
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered
• Work collaboratively to drive innovation
• Strong digital competency

Assets:

• Association of Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE), ESL Equivalent, Prism G2 and Estimating module training certification and MS Project       
• Strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills
• Experience in a projects environment
