As Manager, Channel Sales Experience (formally NGC) & Risk Management, you'll lead two scrum teams and be tasked with owning the engineering strategy and delivery of products within your portfolio. Products include customer dashboards, part of our sales system dedicated to getting a customer started as a TELUS customer, and our Credit APIs and business rules to mitigate against fraud risk.

This high impact, highly visible portfolio is at the centre of the sales journey at TELUS. You'll play a vital role in leading the team to make existing applications resilient and scalable, lay the foundation for a future-proof technology stack that allows us to phase out legacy components piece by piece. Reporting to the Director of the Channel Sales Experience team, you'll set the north star vision for what engineering excellence looks like, and guide the team on its journey to CI/CD, testing best practices and feature delivery.

What you'll do

Support a global team:

  • Lead a global software engineering delivery team to support the outcomes for our customers, team members and business.
  • Hire, inspire and support team members to drive high performance and team engagement through 1:1 coaching, professional development, goal setting and performance management.
  • Foster an innovative, collaborative work environment that encourages risk-taking
  • Guide the team on where to focus effort, help prioritize initiatives, remove inefficiencies and barriers thereby enabling them to deliver value
  • Ensure team members are empowered and enabled to achieve the desired outcomes through providing the required tools, processes, and training

Engineering Excellence & Delivery

  • Collaborate with TELUS Product groups to support the roadmap and execute on delivering experiences that generate business value while reducing team member effort
  • Support and continuously evolve our engineering practice to scale our operation
  • Partner with various CoPs (Architecture, Quality Engineering, Platform) to create best in class technology strategies to support best in class technical solutions

Lead with Operational Excellence:

  • Manage CAPEX and OPEX budget forecasting and actuals
  • Manage third party vendor and internal partner relationships
  • Strives for technical excellence, monitoring application performance, defects, incident management process and PIR

What you bring

  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2+ years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role
  • Experience managing software development cycle, from gathering requirements, design, release practices
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Proven leadership skills; ability to lead high functioning teams while fostering a culture of spirited teamwork and innovation
  • Outcome driven prioritization and decision making skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across the organization
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
