As Senior Advisor, Threat Monitoring Strategy, Cyber Risk Expert, you help protect IT hardware, software and information against modification, destruction and unauthorized disclosure, as well as ensure authentication and access control by designing, administering and maintaining proven security systems. You analyze IT systems and oversee the development of protective measures to back up, restore and secure systems.

You lead and influence development projects and complex, highly innovative strategic initiatives involving multiple sectors. You help develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions. Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work.

You make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives that require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential.

You serve as an expert advisor and subject matter expert as well as a resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies.

Additional responsibilities

  • Recommend and document cyber monitoring strategies to help prioritize them in accordance with Desjardins Group's objectives and business risks
  • As a member of the yellow team, help implement the structure and methodology for cyber monitoring
  • Help map the organization's cyber risks in order to recommend strategies for prioritizing cyber monitoring
  • Develop methodologies, processes and management guides for monitoring cyber risks with stakeholders
  • Develop executive reports on the main cyber monitoring priorities based on threats and business risks

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Significant experience in cyber risk

Specific knowledge

  • Knowledge of basic standards and methodologies, such as MITRE, ISO 2700x and NIST
  • Knowledge of market frameworks, such as MaGMa or CAPEC (an asset)
