The Platform Specialist is part of a team that owns software products that are key to the development and operations of BDC's business applications. The team must share the workload across these software platforms, with some individuals having some strengths on specific products, but overall, all platforms must be managed. The Platform Specialists are responsible for all operational aspects such as availability, performance and security of their platforms. They must be known as the resident experts of the products, supporting developers who build business solutions or to support the proper running of the BDC applications.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Install, maintain and improve the configuration of application platforms in accordance with existing BDC processes.
Manage the platforms lifecycle, ensuring there are properly patched and upgraded to the proper version to remain supported by the supplier.
Implement or improve monitoring, alerts, dashboards about the platform's health.
Manage the security, capacity, performance and availability of the platforms and implement configuration improvements, as needed.
Document operational guides to facilitate support by teammates.
Manage the licence compliance.
Participate to incidents resolutions, war room for major incidents, and to problem resolution resulting from incidents analysis.
Act as an expert by advising and supporting the developers and other IT roles regarding the use of the platforms.
Provide final-level support for technical and operational questions; invoke support from the supplier when necessary.
Obtain market intelligence on the platforms' issues, opportunities and evolutions.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or combination of training in information technology and relevant experience.
At least 5 years of practical experience using or supporting software development tools such as AzureDevops, UrbanCodeDeploy.
At least 5 years of practical experience using or supporting application platforms such as Mulesoft APIManager, Tanzu Application Service, Kafka, Docker.
Experience in technical support of infrastructure components
Dynamic self-starter and self-directed learner
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and other workflow automation tasks
Experience with cloud and containers technology
Good knowledge of telecom concepts (routers, Cisco firewall, switches, security)
Experience deploying and supporting IIS web applications
Good knowledge of the financial, banking or insurance industry
Ability to document activities (support and projects)
Ability to work in project and operational mode
Strong capacity for problem-solving
Autonomy, resourcefulness, attention to detail and team player
Ability to effectively communicate solutions and alternatives
Fluency in English and French
