Specific accountabilities
The incumbent plays a key role in Ivanhoé Cambridge's IT projects. Reporting to the Senior Director, IT Project Management Office, he or she is responsible for project planning, oversight and delivery, ensuring that each project adheres to specified quality, budget and timeline requirements at each stage. Drawing on strong consensus building and facilitation skills, he or she is also in charge of leading and motivating a team and coordinating and engaging the various business resources involved in each project.

Main responsibilities include the following:

  • Plan, organize, lead, track and assess the various aspects of IT projects;
  • Define project objectives and the scope of deliverables in conjunction with various stakeholders;
  • Establish an implementation plan and a timeline for the project and engage contributors in line with Ivanhoé Cambridge's project development and delivery cycle;
  • Collaborate with various centres of expertise to define and manage efforts and set project budgets;
  • Identify, define and submit project change requests (budget, scope, timeline) as required;
  • Serve as a facilitator in implementing the established mandate;
  • Manage the expectations of executives and clients;
  • Oversee reporting and update designated project governance bodies on project status;
  • Produce post-mortem reports and make the corresponding recommendations.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related discipline; master's degree, an asset;
  • Ten years of relevant IT experience, including eight to ten years as a project manager;
  • Experience in IT project management, including transformation/business aspects (organizational change, process improvement, changes in work tools, software setup and integration, data migration/conversion);
  • Ability to handle complex, large-scale projects;
  • Thorough understanding of industry best practices, especially those related to the PMI standard;
  • PMP certification, a considerable asset;
  • Knowledge of the EPM portfolio management platform, a considerable asset;
  • Proven experience in project team and resource management;
  • Excellent understanding of development methodologies, especially Agile methodologies;
  • Knowledge of real estate management, an asset;
  • Flexibility and versatility in performing assigned duties;
  • Solid experience within a team-based, collaborative workplace;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
