Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff in the Montreal office will be teleworking until the further notice. FUNCTION & DUTIES: Kativik Ilisarniliriniq uses the Dash Student Information System to manage data for schools and adult education centres. We are looking for a product owner to serve as the primary internal resource for this critical system. Reporting to the Data Systems Coordinator, the Dash Product Owner will interact with staff across the organisation to ensure the proper functioning of the Dash system.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Build relationships with staff in the schools and adult education centres, particularly centre directors and principals. Maintain regular contact with them in order to proactively address their needs;
  • Monitor Dash usage in the schools and centres, following up on potential problems;
  • Monitor IT helpdesk tickets related to the Dash system to ensure timely resolution;
  • Monitor Dash data quality;
  • Arrange for training of new staff as well as ongoing training of existing staff. Create training materials when needed;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the vendor, maintaining regular communication with them;
  • Ensure that features and changes of each software release are communicated to relevant staff;
  • Gather preliminary requirements for new feature requests. Liaise with the vendor and internal users for the development of such features.


  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • One to three years of relevant experience. The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.


  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills in both English and French;
  • Ability to work autonomously and follow issues through to their resolution;
  • Technical skills to be able to learn an application and perform basic troubleshooting;
  • Ability to understand organizational processes, especially related to school operations;
  • Prior experience as a business analyst a plus;
  •  Prior experience in the education sector a plus;
  • Must be able to travel throughout Nunavik, when required;


In accordance with the SPPOM collective agreement for professionals, from $45,420 to $78,640 annually depending on qualification and experience.
