We are looking for an experienced IT DIRECTOR to join our team and lead the IT group.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for the hardware and software infrastructure that runs Aspex Group and all its divisions, system security and critical policies, maintaining our SAP system, and supporting all key business initiatives and processes requiring IT solutions.


  • Oversees IT operations for both Canada, France and the US.
  • Develop long term IT strategy and roadmap for the company.
  • Leads team of IT staff (hiring, training, guidance, and discipline).
  • Manage and maintain a critical IT infrastructure.
  • Lead architect server and network infrastructure expansion to fit a rapidly changing environment.
  • Schedule, prioritize and assign workload to the team members, based on production issues, new projects, and new feature sets.
  • Maintain MySQL and MS SQL servers and/or clusters.
  • Maintain SAP system as core company ERP.
  • Define, group policies, group securities, network best practices and security vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain Multiple versions of a VMWare virtual server environment.
  • Maintain all backups and replicas in order to safeguard all company critical data and infrastructure.
  • Manage all external vendors in an effective and cost-efficient way.
  • Collaborate with other Aspex leaders to design and maintain IT solutions needed to support Aspex business initiatives and core processes.
  • Monitor systemperformance , and troubleshooting.
  • Attend regular meetings regarding new projects, designs, or architecture changes.
  • Creation of policies and procedures regarding all facets of IT.
  • Purchase and maintain software licensing while remaining in compliance with Quebec's language laws, French and US laws.
  • Purchase and maintain service contracts for hardware and printers.
  • Build, installation and configuration of production servers and computers, where and when needed.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot VOIP telephone systems, equipment, and networks.
  • Lead technology enhancement and create a culture of service to the rest of the organization (service level agreement).
  • Maintenance and upgrades of servers, computers, product catalog and CRM solutions.
  • Provide technical support to employees where necessary to ensure production continuance and employees ability to perform their job.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience / Competencies

  • BAC in IT or equivalent.
  • 10+years' experience in an IT role including leading infrastructure and IT operations.
  • 10 years + of experience with SAP.
  • Experience in managing the complete IT infrastructure in all its different aspects.
  • Experience in defining IT strategic plan for a company.
  • Must have experience with managing and developing IT staff.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
  • Hands-on leader, proven to be action-oriented, result driver, with a strong customer focus.
  • Able to adapt quickly to changes in business plans and priorities.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical and operational skills.
  • Must prioritize work effectively and pursue issues through to successful resolution in a timely manner.
  • Amongst other qualifications – Extensive experience administering and tuning an Active Directory Infrastructure and Office 365 Integrated Environment including Exchange server.
  • Administration of Cloud based servers/storage and Linusx OS is an asset.
  • Experience with MS and MySQL replication.
  • Proven experience working with other business leaders in understanding their IT requirements, needs and preferences and install IT solutions accordingly.
  • Experience with full life cycle development process and production support.
  • Administration of Cloud based servers/storage and Linux OS would be a big asset.
  • Administration of Multi version VMWare virtual service clusters and SAN.
  • Extensive experience with Network hardware such as routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls using both Linux and commercial platforms.
  • Excellent knowledge of network protocols such as DNS, BGP, IPMI, SNMP, TCP, UDP, VLAN, IMAP, SMTP, RIP.
  • Familiarity with all diagnostic tools and monitoring techniques in high-volume environments.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of latest IT developments.
  • Ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms.
