TYPE OF HIRING:Temporary full-time replacement for a duration of one (1) year, or until return of the incumbent.

WORK SCHEDULE:35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

SALARY RANGE (PER HOUR):23.12$ - 33.61$

To perform technical functions related to Computer Network Administration, hardware repair, software installation and troubleshooting.

DUTIES:

  • Mastering virtualization tools: VMware, VDI.
  • Mastering server and SAN management tools.
  • Master Microsoft systems: Office, Windows, SQL server, Exchange server, Windows server with AD and different services (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, etc.).
  • Manage and install different operating systems such as Windows 7 &10, Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2 & 2016.
  • Maintain and develop existing programs.
  • Will be responsible for all labs and offices including any Audio Visual requirements within the college.
  • Analyze, implement, configure and maintain micro based software and hardware in all computer based equipment in the college including VDI.
  • Develop and maintain any procedures and programs.
  • Register software, if applicable.
  • Follow-up on orders.
  • Maintain an inventory of all existing software and hardware.
  • Create accounts on Active Directory & Exchange 2013.
  • Install cabling (RG-45 and fiber).
  • Perform all tasks required to adapt existing equipment to the demands of new technologies employed within the College.
  • Advise and assist all personnel who work with computer related material.
  • Troubleshooting for hardware and software problems.
  • Ensuring that material is well suited to the demands of the software being used.
  • May be responsible for purchasing parts, tools and equipment manuals required for the repair of the above listed equipment (software and hardware) within the limits set by the college.
  • May be asked to co-ordinate a group of data processing technicians.
  • May be asked to co-ordinate the work of other support employees involved in the carrying out of programs or technical operations for which he is responsible.
  • Perform, when necessary, all other related tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Cégep diploma (DEC) in an appropriate specialty, or a combination of diplomas or attestations of studies whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority.
  • English is essential; fluency in French will be considered as an asset.
  • Four (4) years of experience as a Data Processing Technician or in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of Virtualization technologies is essential.
  • Knowledge of Storage Systems technologies is essential.
  • Knowledge of Networking, communication network and cabling is essential.
  • IMB compatibles and computers as well as zero client installations and it's related software installations is essential.
