The Legislative Assembly of Ontario, located in Toronto, ON, seeks a SharePoint and Office 365 global systems administrator to analyze, develop and maintain various solutions using the Office 365 platform, including, but not limited to, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and the Power Platform. Additionally, as a Systems Administrator within the Technology Services Branch, you will provide day-to-day technical support, ensuring that all on-premises and cloud infrastructure systems are designed, implemented and maintained to optimal standards.

What You'll Do

You'll act with integrity to:

  • Provide technical systems support to meet the needs of MPPs and Legislative Assembly departments.
  • Understand and follow all system administration policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to agreed Assembly SLA availability targets and recognize system failure as being top priority.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for SharePoint Online to drive strategic planning and support for company intranet/extranets, including information architecture, site development, and security modelling.
  • Design complex application solutions and workflows primarily based on Microsoft O365 technologies (SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform, and Teams), to address opportunities for business process automation.

You'll support our collaboration as you:

  • Work with other business units to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions using SharePoint and other Office 365 tools.
  • Coordinate regular system and application maintenance and patching, maintaining optimal performance levels.
  • Ensure documentation for all departmental configurations is current and accessible.
  • Provide leadership in presentations on system issues and solutions, review user requirements, design alternatives, and the impact of new technologies, and provide progress reporting.
  • Consult with Cloud and software vendors to maintain knowledge of current developments in the technology industry.

How You Qualify

You demonstrate excellence through your:

  • University-level degree or equivalent experience in IT (specialized subject knowledge) for System Administration, system networking and security for on-premises systems and cloud services.
  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years' experience designing, developing and implementing SharePoint solutions and providing support at the enterprise level.
  • Proven experience as a SharePoint Administrator with the ability to design and implement enterprise-level Intranet and Internet SharePoint solutions.
  • Proven experience migrating high-volume, complex file shares to SharePoint Online.
  • Proven experience administering the Office 365 suite of applications, especially SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and the Power Platform.
  • Knowledge of MS Windows Server 2016/19, MS Exchange O365/2016, MS Active Directory and Azure AD, Email security using EOP/ATP, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of VMware, Citrix XenApp, MS SQL 2014+, Enterprise Backup software, SAN and networking infrastructures, and VPN technologies.

Salary Range:  $67,383 - $97,094 per annum
