Summerhill Market is a boutique grocery store chain in Toronto that specializes in scratch-made prepared foods and on-trend ingredients. Our stores go above and beyond a typical grocery store by offering an extensive rotating selection of ready to eat gourmet meals, freshly baked goodies, and curated hard to find groceries.

Summerhill Market is searching for a Senior E-Commerce Manager, who is a foodie at heart, to analyze our current E-Commerce platform and business plan, identifying opportunities to grow and scale this area of our business.

This is a unique role in that it focuses on the technical and operational side of our e-commerce business and will partner with our current E-Commerce Manager, who will focus on, and is an expert in, our customer experience. Together, as a team, you will ensure that our ecommerce business is set up for operational excellence.

Although the Senior E-Commerce Manager will focus primarily on operations and the scalability of our e-commerce business, the ideal candidate will be driven to create a platform with the customer service experience in mind and is excited about leading a team where it is "all-hands-on-deck".

This role reports directly to the President and has three (3) direct reports: E-Commerce Manager, and two (2) E-commerce Fulfillment Team Members.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current e-commerce website and digital content, suggesting and implementing recommendations to improve the online shopping experience
  • Understand and analyze audience and customers to implement strategies and optimized practices that drive sales and growth
  • Perform regular keyword and audience research and stay up to date with SEO best practices
  • Work with Google Analytics to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strategize and execute the evolution of the e-commerce platform and customer experience
  • Devise a plan to drive and manage online growth through effective management of our website, products, and marketing initiatives
  • Partner with marketing to help drive the digital marketing strategy via our e-commerce platform
  • Oversee day-to-day e-commerce operations such as website maintenance, updating PDP's, and monitoring inventory levels
  • Collaborate with Manager of E-Commerce to support in managing all aspects of customer care, including email correspondence, receiving, and processing returns and managing the online chat.
  • Ensure Product Display Page (PDP) for all products is complete, accurate and aligned to branding
  • Maintain up to date and accurate information throughout the site (i.e., announcements, policies, FAQ's etc.)​

Skillset Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in E-commerce, preferably in grocery retail
  • Sound knowledge of successful practices and techniques related to web merchandising or online retailing that drive sales
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, E-Commerce, IT, Digital Communications, or relevant field
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, finds creative solutions, and can handle multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Experience with web development (UX Design and SEO)
  • Analytical with a good understanding of SEO/SEM & data analytics
