Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for an Information Security Analyst, in our Technology Infrastructure team. Reporting to the Manager, Technology Infrastructure, The Information Security Analyst will primarily protect Esri Canada's computer systems, networks and sensitive information from cyber threats, attacks, and unauthorized access. The role involves analyzing security measures, monitoring, and implementing strategies to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.

Information Security Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Monitor security alerts and events to identify potential threats or security incidents.
  • Analyze security data and trends to understand potential vulnerabilities comprehensively.
  • Respond to security incidents promptly, investigating and mitigating security breaches.
  • Develop and implement incident response plans to minimize the impact of security incidents.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses in systems and networks.
  • Work on remediation strategies to address and mitigate identified vulnerabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of security documentation.
  • Utilize and manage security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems, MDR and SIEM.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and prioritize potential risks to the organization's information assets.
  • Develop and implement security strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Educate and train employees on security best practices to enhance the organization's overall security posture.
  • Prepare and present security reports to management and document security incidents, including their resolution and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with IT team, management, and other stakeholders to implement and maintain adequate security measures.

Specific skill requirements:

  • Understanding of networking protocols and security architectures.
  • +5 years of experience working with security technologies, including firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret security data to identify trends and potential threats.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • A commitment to staying up to date with the latest security threats, technologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve security goals
  • University degree or diploma in Computer Science with relevant security experience
  • Information Security Certification

Experience and Training:

  • Expertise in Security compliance like ISO 27001
  • Expertise in cybersecurity protocols and services
  • Expertise in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Expertise in Managed Detection and Response (MDR)
  • Expertise in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Expertise in Incident Response Plan
