The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) is entering a period of exciting transformation and is seeking a bold, highly skilled and forward-thinking Director of Information Technology Solutions to drive technological performance and enterprise-wide change.
Since its founding in 1866, the CPSO has worked to serve and protect the public by regulating the practice of the medical profession, developing and maintaining professional competencies, taking a leadership position on issues, and partnering with others to ensure optimal performance at all levels of the system. Technology and information management have become core to all its efforts, and it is in this dynamic context that the CPSO seeks to recruit a new Director.
As Director, reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, you will lead the planning, implementation and application of technology solutions in support of CPSO's strategic and operational needs. You will diagnose technological and organizational risks and establish key departmental objectives, outcomes, service and success markers that are linked to long term goals and strategies of the College. With a focus on enabling and supporting the College's business units, you will work with departments and programs to assess, understand and re-design business processes. You will lead the analysis of business problems from a technology perspective and provide solutions, advice and procurement options to address issues.
As the ideal candidate, you will bring to the CPSO great energy, enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence. You are a business-minded and highly strategic leader with experience guiding teams through change and driving organizational performance. An excellent IT manager, you have directed a wide range of infrastructure, application development and operational support activities. As a leader, you are proactive and solutions-oriented and will actively seek out opportunities to innovate, enable, improve and enhance business operations. You have extensive experience with systems design, development and implementation, ideally in a regulatory, public or healthcare environment. Your master's degree in computer science, business or a related field would be an asset as would be your experience in Lean environments.
