The Director, Information Technology, Learning Infrastructure and Resources is  responsible for the enterprise architectural planning that will directly support the Faculty of Education's strategic direction and serve the needs of academic, research and administrative operations and objectives. The Director is a key driver for digital innovation across the Faculty and works collaboratively with leaders across the university to foster a client focused culture of excellence, inclusion and continuous improvement. The Director  will be expected to research and plan the next generation learning and academic support systems for the Faculty of Education to ensure an innovative approach to the Faculty's IT landscape. The incumbent is also responsible for developing and safeguarding the Faculty's internet, data security and web presence/activities.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

A University degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree is preferred. You will also bring 7-10 years of experience leading Information Technology Services in complex organizations. Experience in educational institutions is preferred. Experience in enterprise architecture planning. Demonstrated knowledge of contract management, procurement practices and negotiation strategies. Demonstrated knowledge of IT governance, risk management, policy development and implementation and regulatory/legal issues. Expert level knowledge and extensive experience in Microsoft products (including Office 365 and Outlook), web server administration & virtualization, application virtualization, document management systems, development methodologies and cloud services. Technical knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows and MacOS) and management tools such as SCCM and WSUS. Demonstrated knowledge of: how to administer Group Policies, User Objects, Organizational Units, Trusts, and Domain Controllers, the relationship of Office365 applications, Windows Exchange, SAN and NAS storage methods, WordPress. Familiarity with VM Ware, Windows Server, and/or LAMP stack. Sound knowledge of information security fundamentals including PCI-DSS compliance, data classifications, and authentication and authorization management. Experience with library systems and procedures and information technologies in the management and provision of library and information services is an asset. A proven track record of effective human resources management and development in a unionized environment.
