Reporting to the Lead, Database Management, and showing a strong command of database and data management-related tools (MSSQL MS, SQL Developer, Toad), you'll ensure the availability, integrity, security and performance of corporate databases and data through effective planning, administration, and client support, and in-depth participation in Datawarehousing, Business Intelligence and Master Data Management programs.
Conversant with database concepts, design and administration, you'll be responsible for the upkeep of the enterprise-level Oracle and MSSQL server database stack by performing design, installations, configuration, and administration of multiple versions of each database platform. You'll also manage the non-SQL (Big Data) platform to maintain unstructured data sitting in conjunction with structured data, and conduct database optimization by managing all aspects of Oracle and MSSQL database performance, installation, configuration, design, capacity planning, load-testing, and performance benchmarks.
We'll count on you to plan, execute and monitor backup operations on all Oracle and MSSQL databases and all other data sets in a secured, reliable fashion, perform restore operations, as required, and assist application support specialists and end-users in troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing issues related to the database environment as well as provide solutions for their issues and problems.
This mandate calls for the leadership and guidance of a professional combining a college diploma or degree in computer science, or equivalent, with no fewer than 5 years' experience in database administration and data/database-related field of expertise, and with programming languages such as SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, Java, and Python. Experience working under a virtualized environment, and the ability to handle all tasks and support using virtual and on-site support methods are particularly important at this time. Certification in database technology platforms such as Oracle and MSSQL DBA is required.
As a result of this background, you bring excellent knowledge of the Oracle Multi-tenant architecture and ETL/ELT platform, as well as database security, backup and recovery/restore, performance monitoring, disaster recovery and business continuity planning, together with vendor management skills related to database and third-party applications support. Experience with cloud services (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure) would be considered an asset.
Given the nature and scope of this role, you're fully prepared to work after-hours to help with scheduled maintenance, and to be on-call for emergencies and outages.
The salary range for this regular, full-time position is $81,643.00 to $96,084.00 per annum.
