The opportunity

We are looking for an Associate Software Developer to join the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team within our Data & Analytics program. As a part of a team, you will be accountable for the development of processes across the full software development lifecycle, from business ask through to production implementation.

Who you'll work with

Communicate and interact effectively with systems professionals, as well as end users who are not systems specialists. Work independently, prioritize work assignments, meet timelines and produce an adequate amount of work.

What you'll do

  • With supervision and code/design reviews by senior staff, responsible for the timely completion of high quality, well designed and well architected systems that make appropriate use of technology.

  • Responsible for completion of an acceptable volume of work and for the communication of status of personal work plans and tasks required to design, develop, and test assigned portion of projects.

  • Responsible for maintaining currency in technological trends and directions continually upgrading personal technical and IT related skills through research, education and self motivated technology experimentation.

  • Participate in new technology investigation and make recommendations for new technology adoption where appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent working experience.

  • Knowledge of information systems theories, concepts, methods, and techniques.

  • Good organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Software development experience using object oriented programming patterns and designs, with knowledge of C# .NET and .NET Core, Visual Studio 2010+; RESTful services using ASP.NET WebAPI; JSON/XML; Python

  • Understanding of data management/integration/warehousing patterns and platforms with experience implementing relational and multi-dimensional database structures using Oracle/PL-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL, Microsoft SSIS, or equivalents.

  • Exposure to various software development methodologies and practices such as Test Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, Contrainerization, Scrum and Agile. Experience with the following technologies (or similar): Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, UrbanCode.

  • Resourcefulness, creativity, good judgement and ability to learn/pick up new things quickly.
