Analyst II / Web Developer

Temporary, full-time position (from August 2020 to October 31, 2021) – Toronto, ON

Working in Toronto, and reporting to the Manager, Digital Communications and Web Services, University of Guelph-Humber, you will be an integral part of a team of professionals responsible for the University's primary website, and apply your programming expertise to enhance the website, which is built on Drupal. As an Analyst II/Web Developer, you will also contribute to the success of the University by developing and maintaining web applications that provide new or enhanced services to students, faculty and staff, including applications that support financial management, advisor scheduling, and inventory management.

What you offer this role:

  • an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus up to 3 years of experience building web-based solutions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with your experience including the following:
    • PHP
    • MySQL
    • Drupal
    • JavaScript
    • jQuery
  • proficiency in creating hand-coded W3C-compliant HTML & CSS
  • proficiency in Linux administration
  • an understanding of Apache configuration
  • strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
  • the ability to work within a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and facing new challenges
  • experience developing applications using a PHP framework such as CakePHP or Laravel (an asset)
  • experience developing mobile applications (an asset)
