What can I expect to do in this role?

As an Advisor, Senior Developer, you will:

  • Lead projects and other initiatives in the design, setup, development, and support of Enterprise applications.
  • Provide technical leadership in delivering integrated technology solutions.
  • Lead the research and acquisition of technology, systems, and products.
  • Identify short- and long-term solutions, and define service delivery requirements in consultation with management and clients.
  • Work with service providers and external stakeholders on the purchase of new software/hardware, and negotiate the acquisition of services.

 

Location: Oshawa, Toronto

 

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge:

  • You have extensive experience in development, testing and implementation of web solutions using Java Enterprise technologies (Java, J2EE, Websphere) and other emerging web technologies and cloud delivery/deployment models including RESTful API, Container, Compute, and Developer services.
  • You are a full-stack developer with extensive practical experience in design and development using markup (HTML, CSS, XML), scripting (JavaScript, Node.js JavaScript framework), and procedural and OO languages (Java).
  • You have extensive practical experience in the service integration design, development and related technologies such as API service, API Management service and code management tools (e.g., DevOps, GIT).
  • You have extensive practical experience in designing, building, and configuring database management systems (Oracle, SQL).
  • You have extensive practical experienced in the current web (e.g., WCAG 2.0+) standards, and security (OWASP) best practices and experience in their application.
  • You have a full understanding of modern Software Development/Design, especially Web Application Development and troubleshooting of large/complex systems.
  • You have advanced knowledge in scripting and performance optimization of databases such as SQL & Oracle and related technologies.

 

Project Management Skills:

  • You have strong research and project management skills with the ability to lead and participate in multi-disciplinary teams, identifying information technology options for clients, developing and modifying new systems, and making recommendations for acquisition of applications, hardware/software, and IT services.
  • You have deep experience with leading Application Development Teams utilizing modern SDLC methodologies such as Agile and DevOps.

 

Analytical Experience and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • You have strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpretive reasoning skills with experience leading large system implementations.
  • You have experience analyzing system design, build, test, and implementation phases as well as leading and resolving critical sustainment problems in modern cloud-based systems such as Microsoft Azure.

Interpersonal, Team-Building and Communication Skills:

  • You have strong customer-service, interpersonal, and client-management skills.
  • You have demonstrated team-building, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills to lead project teams.
  • You have excellent communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders on business requirements.
  • You have the ability to prepare project reports, analyses, systems documentation, training manuals and senior-level briefing materials.

 

Salary Range: $1,704.17 - $2,128.95 Per Week
