As the IT Coordinator, you would provide oversight and technical support for data and voice communications systems for staff and Council while also liaising with the managed service provider to ensure system and network availability.

What you will do:

  • Troubleshoot IT issues and provide Tier 1 technical support;
  • Manage the inventory of equipment and implement an asset replacement program;
  • Ensure licensing is current and manage license renewals;
  • Assist the MSP with higher-level support issues as well as implementation, testing and documentation of software upgrades and conversions;
  • Manage various technology projects;
  • Support project management of various technology projects;
  • Troubleshoot issues related to internet connectivity and work with providers to achieve acceptable service levels at all locations;
  • Develop and deliver corporate IT training, such as: computer and network orientation security awareness, phone systems and accessible documents.

What you will need:

  • Degree or diploma in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience;
  • 3-4 years related experience, knowledge of municipal software preferable;
  • Experience diagnosing IT issues;
  • Proven ability to work in a team, effectively interact with others, handle a number of ongoing projects and an ability to work independently;
  • A proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities;
  • Experience and interest in policy development;
  • An interest and comfort with developing and delivering corporate IT training;
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Windows operating systems (server and desktop) and network; configuration parameters; working with SQL servers would be considered an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge of security applications and enterprise-wide software;
  • Ability to travel to sites throughout the Township and a valid Ontario driver’s license.

What We Offer

The salary range for the position is $69,181 – $81,441 depending on education and experience and includes pension and competitive benefit package
