Our Information Technology team works closely with each department across the business to design, build and deliver innovative solutions that help make MPAC an international leader in the property assessment industry. Here's what you will do as part of the team:

  • Analyze and design architecture solutions to meet business/client needs;
  • Take a lead role in the analysis and design of architecture solutions during the application development process and life cycle;
  • Create prototypes or proof-of-concept efforts, ensuring quality attributes (performance, scalability, extensibility) are met;
  • Coach and mentor junior developers;
  • Write high quality and well-documented code;
  • Provide senior level technical advice and expertise regarding technical requirements, resources and cost estimates; and
  • Research technology, systems and products, recommending tools, techniques, standards and performance criteria ensuring compliance with the Enterprise Architecture. 

Here's what you will need to succeed:

  • Completion of a post-secondary education (university degree or college diploma) in an IT related field;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems development and advanced knowledge of:
    • Computer science concepts including programming patterns, data structure and algorithms.
    • Implementing software engineering best practice, such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, version control, documentation, and automated testing.
    • Application design using software design patterns, web services, and messaging technologies.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a senior technical development capacity, analyzing, designing and developing/configuring applications utilizing one or more of the following technologies:
    • Python, SQL, Java
    • PostgreSQL, Redshift, Kubernetes, Airflow
    • Amazon Web Services, DataWarehouse, DataLake
  • Demonstrated experience translating technical requirements into architecture solutions;
  • Analytical and interpretative reasoning skills to assess client needs and develop cost effective and efficient IT solutions; and
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people.

Nice to have:

  • Certification earned or in progress in the above technologies; and
  • A practical understanding of agile methodology.
