Make-A-Wish® Canada (MAWC) now has a contract part-time (22.5 hours/week, 12 months) opportunity for a National IT Support Technician at their National office located in Pickering, Ontario.

Working in collaboration with the National Director, IT, this position is responsible for providing front-line service to our customers by answering inquiries, fulfilling requests and working with the IT team to resolve issues. Additionally this position is responsible for ensuring delivery of IT/IS desktop and online/web support to the National Office and Chapter Offices across Canada.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports a Windows 7/10 and Mac OS desktop environment,
  • Provides day-to-day IT support and services nationally to all chapters across the Foundation,
  • Tracks IT assets and ensures that inventory is current and up to date,
  • Administers users' account information for Active Directory, VoIP and mobile device services,
  • Supports end users in a Citrix environment,
  • Maintains and monitors Anti-Virus/Spam updates for all desktop systems,
  • Deploys and maintains desktop and laptop hardware and software,
  • Develops training documents, creation of reports, and system maintenance and enhancement,
  • Completes various projects mandated by the National Director of IT,
  • Responsible for meeting room setup and Maintenance of technical equipment,
  • Assists with the Inventory management and deployment process,
  • Works in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act in the applicable province of employment and its regulations and complies with the Foundation's Health & Safety Policy,
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education in the Information Technology industry and/or equivalent work experience required,
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting users in a Microsoft Windows environment,
  • Computer programming (C, Visual Studio, and Windows Scripting) an asset,
  • Understanding of VPN technologies and concepts,
  • Understanding of Microsoft Exchange administration preferred,
  • Understanding of VPN technology,
  • MCP, MCDST, MCPD, ITIL certifications are preferred,
  • Networking skills required: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and networking principles and concepts,
  • Experience with Server Virtualization and Storage Area Network,
  • Hands-on experience with the following:
  • Active Directory
  • MS Windows 7/10 and Mac OS
  • MS Office 2010
  • VoIP telephony systems

  • Office environment with occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours,

  • High degree of responsibility for technology systems.
