The Team:

MPAC's Cybersecurity team is responsible for the detection of incidents and threats including the coordination of key programs that impact all aspects within the Cybersecurity Services area.

The role:

The Director of Cybersecurity oversees several critical programs to ensure that there are protections from Data Loss, Detections of Cyber and Data loss events and monitoring of the threat landscape for impacts to the corporation. This role partners with several levels of the organization ensuring compliance to ISO/IEC 27000 series standards (and others), directives and industry regulations are met.

  • You thrive on creating security updates for all levels withing the corporation such the the executive management group (EMG) and MPAC's Board of Directors.

Here's what you will need to succeed:

  • Completion of a university degree in Computer Science or a related field;
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in IT security and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing a technical discipline with significant impact;
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills;
  • Ability to operate in a cloud environment such as AWS with a solid understand of the various security controls and services and how to apply;
  • Familiarity of common security threats, security technologies, and industry standards, best practices, trends and emerging technologies;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to conduct planning and oversee implementation and management of programs;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, including conflict resolution, to work with cross-functional teams and liaise effectively with staff in all areas of the corporation;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively negotiate service level agreements and develop strong vendor relationships; and
  • Ability to influence management and build credibility across the organization.

Nice to have:

  • Possess one or more of the following industry certifications:
    • CISSP, GSLC, CISM, GCIH, CCSP, GPEN, GCCC, CISA;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information security industry standards (e.g. ISO/IEC 27000 Series, NIST SP 800-53, CIS Control, Cyber Security Framework, MITRE, etc).
