We are looking for a transformational leader who will be key to establishing a strong digital transformation culture through collaboration, innovation, accountability and partnerships.
As the Digital Enterprise Architect, you will play an important role in establishing the strategic direction of systems supporting the Region, driving innovation and establishing architecture roadmaps and blueprints. You are responsible for evaluating, developing and recommending solutions that align with our Cloud and Technology Blueprints. You provide leadership/guidance to the business and technology solutions delivering architecture, design, and development of reusable capabilities across multiple business units and technology solution product lines. Working collaboratively with a team of project managers, data architects, senior IT leaders, and other business stakeholders, you will build and maintain strategic technology roadmaps that are aligned to strategic goals. You will be responsible for ensuring proposed solutions and architectures are acceptable and meet standards and requirements. You are directly responsible for leading your team and managing their performance according to the Region's policies and guidelines.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline and a strong background in enterprise systems and cloud-based ecosystems including AWS, Azure and Google with experience in at least two IT disciplines in a multi-tier environment (e.g., technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, information analysis, operations). Hands-on experience practicing at least one formal Enterprise Architecture Framework such as TOGAF, Zachman and other leading architecture framework is preferred.
The successful incumbent will have the ability to work within multiple, diverse business processes, technologies, and processing environments at an enterprise level and have experience with Agile development methodology. The incumbent will have a minimum of 8-10 years experience in critical problem solving and advanced troubleshooting skills to drive resolution to technical and business issues. Excellent presentation, documentation, communication and influencing skills as well as skills for presenting/influencing technology direction in a business context is required. The incumbent will have experience driving adoption of enterprise standards and standard methodologies including relevant knowledge and experience with cloud governance, data governance and AI governance. Heightened awareness, experience or passion in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is preferred. The successful candidate will have neutral views on technology, vendors, and product choices with the ability to drive short-term actions ensuring they are consistent with long-term goals.
The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on condition that the Regional Municipality of Halton receives a current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check, by the first day of employment.
