Local Site Coordinator – Mississauga, ON

Reporting to the Director of Finance and IT, the Local Site Coordinator (LSC) will work closely with the Ariva Leadership Team to ensure alignment with Ariva requirements and Corporate and Pulp & Paper IT organizations. Serves as the liaison and key contact with IT vendors that support local Ariva activities. The LSC will provide project proposal and develops solutions with the IT Ariva Applications teams and Corporate IT Shared Services teams. This role interacts with all levels of business and/or Ariva management, as well as all levels of Domtar IT management and support. This also role manages the Ariva Field Service Technician (FST).

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the daily performance of all desktops, laptops, mobile devices and peripheral equipment at all Ariva locations

  • Serves as escalation point for IT service impacting issues across all Ariva

  • Provides problem resolution and is part of a 24x7 on-call rotation support team to support projects deployments and service impacting outages

  • Responsible for ensuring the proper coordinated implementation of new projects, Ariva requests for installation or support activities

  • Serve as the Domtar point of contact for externally provided services including production printer maintenance, Ariva based IT staff augmentation and warehouse mobile device provisioning. Coordinates activities and services with 3rd party vendors and to ensure that deliverables meet Domtar SLA’s and expectations at Ariva

  • Ensure Domtar hardware and software standards are followed

  • Adapt to existing processes/procedures, as well as be sufficiently agile in order to make changes and additional adjustments to existing processes/procedures

  • Work cross-functionally with teams throughout the IT organization: Vendor and Financial Management, Operations, Architecture and Platform Services, Cyber Security, Risk and Compliance and Business Application teams

  • Responds to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT data information

  • Works with the assigned Project Managers and local team to establish the preliminary project plan and (WBS) Work Break down Structure for projects at Ariva

  • Coordinates the required activities for project planning phase deliverables. Recommends solutions to the project managers and portfolio coordinators, as appropriate. Facilitates the stakeholder communications processes with the Ariva business leadership and other Managers


  • The Successful Incumbent will have:

        • Bachelor’s degree in MIS or other related field or equivalent experience with an Associate’s degree

        • 5+ years’ experience with information technology infrastructure components

        • 5+ years’ experience leading and managing technology projects

        • Experience providing support services for Microsoft related technologies such as Windows Server, Clustering and VMWare

        • Ability to impact and influence decision-making across and at all levels of the organization

        • Practical knowledge of Licensing Compliance and Support Agreements for PC, Technical and Hardware equipment

        • Ability to work autonomously with little direct supervision.

        • Ability to manage in critical circumstances ensuring business requirements are met

        • Demonstrated ability to create and document internal procedures and best practices for IT related items and processes

        • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize

        • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills

        • Strong problem solving and planning skills

        • Fluent in English and French (verbal, written, comprehension) is an asset
