Reporting to the Assistant Chief Information Officer, you'll utilize your expertise in continuously monitoring, detecting, analyzing, combating, and neutralizing cyber threats. As a Cyber HUB Security Threat Investigator, you'll seek out cyber weaknesses and stealthy attackers while performing deep dives into data to understand pre- and post-cyber-attacks, maintain situational awareness while proactively analyzing incoming security signals in real time with a balance of accuracy and speed using a variety of proprietary and third-party tools, and function as part of a collaborative team assessing the scope of attacks and the affected systems. You'll also analyze vulnerability assessments and mitigate the associated cyber security risk before it affects the organization, and maintain an analytical approach in threat actor-based investigations as you thrive in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.
Additionally, you'll be responsible for the overall coordination and assessment of cyber threats against each Board in the hub, and communicate with other provincial cyber security hubs, Ministry of Education and cyber security leads of various school boards on current threats, while promoting collaboration and coordination between school boards to strengthen cyber security practices and recommend opportunities to manage cyber security risks. You'll also investigate and provide reporting on cyber threats, incidences and common issues among school boards.
This position may require overtime including evenings, weekends and holidays. Overtime could be required on short notice in order to respond to current threats and incidents.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
With a post-secondary education in an Information Technology field, such as cyber security, information systems or another related field, and a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' work experience in Information Technology Kindergarten to Grade 12 cyber security, you have the solid foundation this role demands. Your success as a Cyber HUB Security Threat Investigator will also be supported by the following:

SALARY RANGE: $76,284 - $95,358 per annum
