Program Manager - Product Life Cycle Management

The Role:

Working on our Software Product Management team, you will drive the delivery of industry-leading software solutions across AMD products and their target markets. You will manage the product life cycle process while increasing communication and collaboration with stakeholders on engineering and business teams.

You can demonstrate a strong knowledge and execution of technical program management, an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software solutions, and experience with software driver models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of the life cycle of software AMD delivers for our client-side products, from idea through to launch and the eventual end-of-life of solutions
  • Planning and driving the execution of software products to enable best-in-class customer solutions
  • Driving alignment between AMD product solutions and customer platforms to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction throughout the product life cycle
  • Representing the Software Product Management team in corporate planning and execution forums
  • Providing strong technical program management of cross-functional teams, influencing and supervising the delivery of our software roadmaps, ensuring qualification of software deliverables, and forging positive relationships with engineering and business teams
  • Delivering results in an effective and timely manner, while continuously improving process and product
  • Communicating effectively, in writing and in person, to deliver clear and concise information to AMD managers and executives

Required Skills:

  • A history of driving the software product development life cycle
  • Proven track record of working within tight timelines and aggressive schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly and to lead technical teams
  • Confidence to evaluate risks and tradeoffs, and present solution options to executive teams
  • Collaboration and ability to influence horizontally across multiple internal functional organizations
  • Adaptability in the face of business and technical changes throughout the product life cycle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum 10+ years of proven program management experience in dynamic and competitive industry, particularly within software development or engineering-based organizations
  • Familiarity with the semiconductor industry, especially the various functions of graphics firmware, driver software and platform hardware

Academic Credentials:

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
