As a key member of the Huron IT department, the Coordinator, Information Technology is responsible for a broad range of technology services and support. Reporting to the Manager, IT and working closely with all other members of the IT team, and WTS at Western, this position provides technical support services to faculty and staff across the Huron campus. This includes classroom and meeting room technical support, physical management, and setup of equipment; writing instructional manuals on equipment use and providing training on these environments; and providing typical help desk support per established help desk procedures.
The Coordinator is a pro-active individual, adhering to best practices to ensure that all elements of technology across the Huron campus are functional, operational, and patched. This role consistently works to provide the best possible computing experience to anyone on the Huron campus.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a computer science discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent education and experience;
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an administrative support role working with the public, preferably in a post-secondary or educational setting;
Exceptional and well-honed client/customer service skills to represent Huron professionally in all interactions and with individuals at different levels of the organization;
Experience with VOIP telephony systems; Microsoft Active Directory management; SCCM; virtualization technologies;
Familiar with cyber security best practices; familiar with image deployment for PC-based systems;
Knowledge of networking protocols; switches; Wireless Access Points;
Proficiency with MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); both Windows and Mac operating systems; video conferencing platforms (Zoom);
Familiar with typical audio and visual technologies used in Higher education classrooms;
Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
Exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to interact positively and calmly with students, faculty and the general public in a variety of settings;
Willingness to participate fully in a team environment;
Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and use good judgement in all decisions;
Energetic, organized, self-motivated, collaborative, adaptable, and flexible.
