About this role:


We are looking for an experienced, quality-minded technical writer to join our talented product development team, helping to bring exciting new products to market. As a technical writer, you will collaborate to develop, author and maintain our suite of technical documentation (user manuals, service manuals, quick-start guides, etc.) for all Avidbots’ products. The technical writer will also be responsible for designing and authoring product label drawings, which may include working directly with label suppliers during the product development process.


You are motivated, a self-starter, and an extraordinary communicator who can grasp technical information quickly and translate it into highly usable documentation for our customers, both internal and external.



How you will make a difference:

  • Author and maintain technical documentation (internal and external-facing) for Avidbots’ products (software & hardware)
  • Design and maintain technical labels for Avidbots’ products
  • Work closely with product & program management team to understand documentation & label requirements and deliver on schedule
  • Engage with external content translators, as required.
  • Engage with external label suppliers, as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the scope of Technical Writing.


Key requirements and experience:

  • A degree / diploma in English or related field with a 5+ years of technical writing experience
  • Proficiency using the following applications: MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat DC, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or equivalent authoring software
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision
  • Experience with technical writing for hardware and software products
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with diverse groups of people
  • Proven ability to engage with and collaborate effectively with various individuals / teams.
