Performance Auto Group is currently seeking a Solutions Developer Team Lead  to join the head office in Brampton. The candidate will oversee and mentor the Solutions Development Team.

Here's what you'll deliver:

  • Take responsibility to guide the team's development efforts towards successful project delivery while maintaining a positive team culture.
  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
  • Maintain high standards of work quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
  • Investigate project details and highlight risks to implement improvements and be able to mitigate project issues.
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to provide expert advice and assist with multiple projects.
  • Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other relevant parties. 
  • Analyze classical OO plus multiple inheritance, mixins, and the utility of having first class functions
  • Demonstrate strong, clear and conscientious communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Establish code and test programming for in-house software programs.
  • Debug code for existing programs based on immediate need.
  • Conduct various end-user training upon completion of software.
  • Manage multiple projects and respond immediately to tech support requests from internal clientele.
  • Implement systems for in-house production environments.
  • Troubleshoot system bugs and issues.
  • Write programs in a variety of computer languages.
  • Update and expand existing programs.
  • Encodes project requirements by converting workflow information into computer language.
  • Analyze existing source code and polish feature sets. 
  • Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions.
  • Maintains historical records by documenting program development and revisions.
  • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings
  • Report issues and concerns immediately to the IT manager.
  • Demonstrate utmost professionalism in the performance of duties. 
  • Work in strict compliance with the Laws of the Province of Ontario and Canada including, but not limited to the Accessibilities for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Uphold all rules and procedures - support enforcement, including disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Understand and comply with all federal, provincial and local regulations that affect service operations, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), waste disposal regulations, etc.
  • Other duties as required by management.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years' experience as a Software Developer is required.
  • Prior experience in a technical leadership position is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the retail automotive industry is preferred.
  • College or University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong software design, development and testing skills acquired through both a strong educational background and/or work experience.
  • Proficient with responsive, adaptive and mobile design.
  • Expertise with open web standards technologies: React/Redux, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, including jQuery, Bootstrap and other libraries.
  • Experienced in scripting (Google App Script, JavaScript, etc).
  • Knowledgeable in developing with Java and J2EE (full stack) Maven, JSP, JPA, XML/XSL.
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure management especially in Google Cloud platform.
  • Version control knowledge (git).
  • Ability to recognize software problems and develop creative solutions within an energizing environment.
  • Feel comfortable switching languages and learning new ones. 
  • Strong language-agnostic skills. 
  • Strong database design, development and support knowledge.
  • Strong mathematical and logic knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to manage stress and work with tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn related skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision.
