The Solution Architect will bring industry experience and subject-matter expertise in public and private sector environments, working directly with the Charter Sales team in supporting the sales cycle.

About the role:

In the role of a Solution Architect (SA), you will work as part of Charter’s sales organization in a technical capacity to assist Account Managers in the identification, qualification & conversion of sales opportunities. You will be retained to provide personalized coverage for a specific vertical (defined geographically or by end-customer market segment). As an SA, you are a senior resource in the organization who understands the intricate details of technology solutions and how they apply to your vertical.

You will consult directly with specific customers to understand their business problems, and design detailed technical solutions to remediate them. These solutions are built on best-practice design principals, and the strategic objectives of Charter and its partners.

As an SA, you are sought out for your extensive experience in a small subset of fields, and your high-level understanding of general IT concepts. You will be able to design solutions with minimal assistance from a Technical Architect, provided you have experience within that particular field. When developing detailed solutions outside of your known fields, you will engage in collaborative process with the TA to develop a detailed design.

Finally, you will work collaboratively with the sales team to develop long-term sales strategies in your assigned accounts in the public and private sector, including building customized business approaches. You will maintain a detailed understanding of procurement and ordering requirements and will be able to use this knowledge in outlining investment options to drive financial and technologically valued customer engagements.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • 8+ years of computing industry related experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working with healthcare or public sector environments
  • Additional experience in Education or Service Provider environments preferred
  • Product experience in at least two of the following Vendors: Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, or significant experience in one of their key competitors
  • Sales or Technical Sales Experience
  • Typically a BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.
  • Minimum CCNP, JNCP, VCP or similar vendor certification required, CCIE, JNCIE, MCE preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of routing, switching, wireless, collaboration, cloud, and computing
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and highly detailed with a proactive action-oriented mindset
  • Efficient problem-solving and analytical skills, and are solutions orientated
  • Strong interpersonal communications (Phone, Email, WebEx)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and written, to technical and business personnel
  • Willingness to learn new systems and vendors, as needed

Working Conditions

  • Minimal Overtime as required
  • Minimal Travel – Less than 10%
