Information Services Technologist – Permanent, Temporary & Spareboard (On Call) positions.

This position provides on-site and telephone technical service and support for technology users throughout the district offices, schools and learning centres. Installation, configuration, maintenance and support of computer hardware, software and networks are integral to this position. This position is unionized with an excellent benefits package.
The successful candidate will be working as part of the school district's Information Management Services (IMS) group, a responsive and innovative employer with a commitment to their role as Partners in Learning. IMS provides leadership in assessing and delivering the most suitable technologies to support educators and administrators within the school district.
Knowledge of systems operations and hardware troubleshooting in a multi-vendor networked environment (OpenVMS, Windows, OS & iOS), WIFI, Public Address (PA) and Audio/Visual (AV) equipment support, maintenance, and monitoring are requirements, along with good communications, customer service skills and the ability to manage priorities and be focused on meeting service quality and timeliness targets. Applicants with demonstrated Windows or Macintosh support experience preferred.
A 2 year diploma in IT from a recognized, accredited college or technical institute and 1 year of technology support experience is the minimum requirement.
