Work Arrangements

The Computing Studies and Information Systems Department is seeking Regular Probationary faculty members to begin teaching in the Winter 2020 semester. These positions are available in the Winter 2020 and Summer 2020 semesters.

The candidates must be able to teach days and/or evenings and on Saturdays at either or both the New Westminster and Coquitlam campuses.

Workload is assigned each year based on available sections.

The Role

The Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration is seeking to hire CSIS Regular Probationary instructors in the upcoming year.


The successful candidate will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress, plan, organize and teach learning activities. The successful candidate will ensure students receive the knowledge, information and resources, to succeed by maintaining a quality, learner centered, approach to post-secondary education.
The instructor must be fully prepared to teach Introduction to Programming I (CSIS 1175), Excel for Business (CSIS 1190), Multimedia Web Development (CSIS 1280), Systems Analysis & Design (CSIS 2200) and CSIS 2300 Database I, as well as being able to teach at least THREE course combinations from the following seven groupings of courses below:

1. CSIS 1275 Introduction to Programming II (Java) / CSIS 3275 Software Engineering OR
2. CSIS 1275 Introduction to Programming II (Java) / CSIS 3475 Data Structures & Algorithms OR
3. CSIS 2260 Operating Systems / CSIS 2270 Virtualization and Computer Networking OR
4. CSIS 3175 Introduction to Mobile Application Development OR
5. CSIS 3280 Web Based Scripting / CSIS 3380 Advanced Web Programming with JavaScript Ajax OR
6. CSIS 3360 Fundamentals of Data Analytics / CSIS 3860 Data Visualization OR
7. CSIS 3540 Client Server Systems (DBMS)

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need

Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:
- Possess a relevant PhD and/or Masters' degree from an accredited university.
- Demonstrate an excellent ability to teach at the post-secondary level.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in a team environment.
